Take One: Filmmaking for Kids

Motion Branding

BRIEF
Due to the pandemic, festivals, conferences, and conventions have either been forced to shut down or to think of new ways to connect with their audiences.
For this project, we were tasked with creating a brand new event, one that solely lives on the internet.

APPROACH
Take One is an educational web event that aims to teach kids about the basics of filmmaking and to inspire them to make movies, share their ideas, and have fun all from the comfort and safety of their own home.

MOTION APPLICATIONS

OPENING TITLE
Inspired by the many pieces that go into making a movie, the event opener video takes kids through a fun and informative journey into the world of filmmaking.

SECONDARY ELEMENTS
Additionally, a series of secondary elements were created to complement and show a complete system. Event introductions, lower thirds, a bug, website, and event posters were all developed to follow a familiar and friendly look.

PROCESS + DEVELOPMENT

The development of the identity was largely inspired by 4 pieces that go into making a movie. Having an idea, set up, recording, and editing. Using a grid made from old projection countdowns, these 4 pieces can live on their own and move to form the the main piece of the filmmaking process. You can't have one without the other.
